David Blomstrom spent the first two decades of his life in the agricultural wilderness of West Dakota. During a stint in the Navy, he lived in three corners of North America — San Diego, California; Key West, Florida and Newfoundland. As a wildlife biologist, he worked in the fourth corner, Barrow, Alaska. His work also took Blomstrom to Florida and Mexico, studying manatees and sea turtles. He has also visited Hawaii, Kenya and Jersey (in the Channel Islands), along with London and Paris. Blomstrom attended college in Bellingham, Washington and currently lives in Seattle. Blomstrom considers Kenya the most exciting place he has visited. The most beautiful is a toss up between Hawaii and upper New England in the fall. (Then again, there are many kinds of beauty, and the icy wastes of Barrow, the rocky coast of Newfoundland and Montana’s Glacier National Park are other powerful contenders.) The best smelling is the West Dakota prairie after a rain. Learn more about David Blomstrom at www.david-blomstrom.org. David Blomstrom, WebRanger |
